I see, the RPM tranny seems pretty nice, only problem is I can't heat my seat sink over that plastic.. also the have 1 degree or 4 degrees of toe in so i'm not exactly sure I've i can flip the arms around

I'm considering the HR tranny because of the look and lack of toe, but i'm very skeptical of the graphite mold, quite a few people have had cracks in it :/

The RPM comes with 0º and 3º, and with a little work, you could just run the arm carriers backward to keep factory anti squat.

does the standard traxxas 2wd gear box have that anti squat? if so i've literally never noticed

I know you can flip the arm carriers around to keep the antisquat, however the holes will no longer be M4 to M4, instead it's M3 to M4.. which I'm not concerned about drilling out, merely how that change in screw diameter will affect my chassis holes...

Edit: so I just walked outside to examine the stock case and it does have anti squat... So now that I've gone mid motor... My squat is.. Well, "prosquat"?? Lol! Or maybe just squatting? Haha anyways, how would you go about solving this issue?

Just wanna express my frustration with all of the little things that I had absolutely idea about until I went mid motor; my god the confusion! Haha, but I guess this is how you learn D:

I made a wedge that goes under the gearbox to reset the antisquat. Then I went to an FLM case which has no antisquat, and had to make a smaller wedge.

The RPM actually has 3.3mm on one side (so that the threads self-tap) while the other hole is 4mm, so the screw passes through. You would just use slightly longer screws with locknuts to hold the reversed arm carriers in place.

Clever on the wedge I was thinking of something along those lines to sit under the gearbox, I guess the RPM case will be the best gearbox for me since ill have minimum work to correct the anti squad since the arm carriers mount independently.

quick update on things:

ordered a full set of Fast Eddy metal shielded bearings and rubber sealed bearings for the axle carriers, since I've already blown through 3 or 4 of the cheap bearings I purchased off ebay :/ I would not advise the quantity over quality route lol

The RPM Gearbox was also purchased to correct my anitsquat issue and I'm worried that the custom gearbox I made may have warped and caused the teeth of fall out of sync

Additionally a Robinson Racing Xtra Hard Steel Idler gear was purchased to minimize on gear teeth wear.

An FLM sealed steel differential was also purchased to increase performance and prevent gear wear.

Lastly.. the impulse buy
A set of Gmade XD 85mm Piggy Back shocks was ordered since I am currently running Traxxas Ultra Shocks and... well why not

bigdodge44150: well 85mm shocks are the proper slash 2wd front shock length.. right? lol you've got me second guessing myself now bigdodge! hahaha. On their site it says 85mm is the proper front shock, so I assume should be getting the right ones :P
