That $0.46 must be from giving it "that Pro-Line Blue touch"

Would this still be a Slash? The platform (from what I am seeing), is completely different from how a Slash looks like.

Why dont Pro-Line just make an SCT instead?

Because they would make less money doing that.

They more or less do, though. Transmission, chassis, suspension, tires. It's just that you can fit any part of it onto a Slash.

The only thing missing is the gears inside the gearbox and the axles, the latter of which could be sourced from a non-Traxxas supplier. Get someone to make lightweight yet strong gears, and you've got a proprietary SCT roller.

Do plan on picking one up...the STRC kit is ok, but has its limitations.

By the time I'm done, it may as well be a PL truck. Body, suspension, transmission and now chassis. Only Traxxas parts left are the steering, rod ends, VXL, and big bores.

There are even PL rodends for it.... Only The turnbuckles and a few little things are still TRX

Oh so much this. They pretty much do make a complete SCT at this point, but as has already been pointed out, if they sold it for what they sell the parts for individually, it would be insanely expensive. People who could never justify spending over $1k on a RTR can still justify spending $1k in hopups and upgrades over time.

Priced reasonably... compared to what? It's ludicrously over-priced. It's the most expensive Slash LCG on the market-- for five pieces of aluminum, some velcro, and quite a lot of plastic.

Oh, and a I forgot-- that pic certainly has the PL bellcrank in it, so throw on another $30.

compared to the anza chassis. you must have missed jangs post above.

its also not as simple as running to home depot and snagging five pieces of aluminum, some velcro, and quite a lot of plastic. there is research and design, machining, coating, marketing, hardware, etc, etc involved in something like this.
