So what is the cheapest route to take..

Slash roller to LCG
Rally roller to Slash
Or just go with Slash Roller and STRC LCG Chassis?
Do you want the strc lcg for the slash 2wd or 4wd. do you care if it is an aftermarket chassis or a traxxas built one?what do you plan on doing with it? prices may range from a $20 dollar difference between each set up or $200. Its what you are planning on doing and how it will best suite your needs.

The Slash Roller goes for about $145-155.

Not worried about body or tires... that's going to be the same for both. Just parts to swap things over.
-Slash 2WD: Slice A4, MMP, Velineon
-T-Rex 250 & 450
-SCT 4x4 ???

Tower is now showing that they expect 1/10 rally parts early Nov.
A few parts are now in stock, not enough to complete a coversion, but we're getting closer.
If it aint broke, then break it and upgrade.

I guess the question would be this then.

Slash 4x4 roller converted to rally chassis (not sure on conversion)

Rally roller converted to Slash (I think someone said about $70 in parts?)

Or Slash roller converted with STRC chassis ($100 for chassis)

All electronics, tires and body excluded. Just parts for swap.

I'd be racing/playing with this at the local track.

.
No go back and read page one, and my post in page 3.

Rally to Slash 4x4 LCG SCT is nothing but Bumpers and Body mounts about $27, maybe less if you get the bumpers on ebay chopshops. Jang and myself both have a thread on this.

Old Slash 4x4 to LCG Slash chassis ( See page one of this thread is about $70 in parts which are not all available yet )
Traxxas 1/10 Rally, Atomik MM450, HPI Savage Flux HP, HPI Blitz, Axial Honcho
Blade MCPX V2, Blade 130x, Tarot 450 Pro V2

Yes, although true the rally roller is about $70-80 more on ebay to start with.

So it seems it maybe kind of a wash. I bet traxxas is somewhat aware of this.

Seems that Traxxas is going to release a LCG Slash 4x4.

It’s like someone woke the sleeping giant that is Traxxas recently. They have been putting out new stuff like crazy.
They just announced a new version of their Traxxas Platinum Slash 4×4! This is the one that comes with all the hop-ups like a center diff, aluminum hubs, beefier aluminum shocks, and a clear body. You still need to provide your own radio gear. The new version now comes on their newer LCG chassis! I guess Traxxas was tired of everyone else making a chassis for their truck, and thought they would just do it themselves.
Release is scheduled for mid December 2012, with a street price of about $490

I guess you could go with out the RX box and battery hold down stuff and use velcro (which I already have).

So you can save $17.
Ya me too. i Thought $30 at most
