My personal observations of the similarities & differences between the Traxxas QR1 & Hubsan X4 H107 RTF quad copter sets.

See an official word from Traxxas's Peter Vieira at http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/sho....php?p=1581847

Ha! THANKS! I'll be getting a QR-1 for my brother. He's not very savvy with RC, so I want him to have the most enjoyable experience out of the box possible.

Me? I'll be ordering an X4, most likely.

Reviews said the Hubsan X4 takes around 45mins to charge the battery and the Traxxis QR-1 takes around 45-50mins to charge... is that with one battery or two batteries?

I would assume it would take twice as long to charge two since the average USB 2.0 is only .5A output?

I'm pretty sure these chargers are not going to put out more than 1C to a cell.

From my understanding the USB chargers just have PCBs that open/close the circuit from a voltage range (4.2v-3.4/3.2/whatever)... very similar to the PCB you find on the 18650 type 'protected' lithium batteries. No actual voltage/current regulation.

I don't have either Husban/Traxxis, but I do have lipo USB chargers for other quads/micro helis. I can measure these ones and report back.

Have you tried charging two dead ones together yet on the Traxxas charger?

I cant find the plugs to use them on my normal charger. Maybe I will buy an extra USB charger and cut the plug from that one.

Yes, that's how I arrived at the figures quoted in the review. By actually doing it

It should. It's from the same mold, just painted differently.
