This week I bought a 2wd slash at my LHS, that was Tuesday. While I was there another customer mentioned skis for the front. I thought it was a cool idea, but I was just looking for a truck to run around the off road corse between oval heats and bash with on breaks at work.

Wednesday I took the truck to work and then to the track with me. Had a blast a both places. Thursday after work, and with snow in the forcast, I started to think about the skis. I found here and have been lurking and reading when not driving. Saturday I snuck back to the LHS to pick up some Sand Paws and Tenchers.

Thanks for all the great info so far, and reading all this. However I have a question. When running in the snow, the tub filled with snow, even before I picked up the sand tires. If I go with a Baka body, should I still get an over tray or something similar to cover the tub? Or has anyone trimed up there body and how does that look?

Thanks for all the great knowledge. I am already thinking of a 4wd, just not sure if I should get 1/16 summit or save the extra 150 for a stampede. The shape shifter project is awesome....but I'm getting ahead of my budget.

Well, I made one decision, I just orderd some Full Force Skids. Next I am going to try and play with some take to block snow from being kicked up into the chassis.

I was looking at that and the Outerwears cover. Neither are in stock at Amain for the 2wd slash. I was leaning towards the Outerwears just because it seemed easier to change the battery.

Well, the sand paws didnt work so well in the snow. They gave me some forward movement, then they just dug a big whole. Any other tire options I should look at?

my slingshots work very well on thin powder and any packed snow. the panther paddle tires will probably work the best, other wise make some snow chains with mini chain from lowes/home depot... DjMedic has a pretty good video on youtube for how to make them. so do other people

EDIT: the best thing you can do is raise the suspension as MUCH as possible. seriously, like 2 inches of preload. night and day difference.

I've got the suspension all the way up with around an inch of preload, I'll have to add to that. I also might try some slingshots as well.
