Hi all.

Since getting my mt4 g3 I've realised that me and my sons are just Bashers. I thought the slash 4x4 was a good all rounder, but the wheels/ tires are too small. Been considering getting stampede wheels on it with a new body. Anyone have any opinions on this? I'd guess that I'd loose lots of cash selling and buying something else but I'd also like to avoid spending on it if it will not end up that great anyhow...

Cheers all!

I think you need stampede arms and links etc for an mt conversion. I think it would really change things for you as far as a basher truck.
I hate to part with an rc you can rarely get what you have in it.
The wheels and tires would be your biggest investment for the deal. I say go for it if you dont like it you will add some value to the right buyer with a truck that can transform two different ways. Bear in mind you will need to possibly gear down for those bigger tires. Best of luck and enjoy whatever you decide.

Stampede links and arms are the same, I did an mt conversion to my slash 4x4 some time ago and it was pretty cool, I just used stock stampede tires, geared down to an 11 tooth pinion. And used a slash body without fenders.

Looks cool. I was recently looking at the possibility of selling the slash and getting a 1/8 buggy or truggy.... It's alot of dough tho. I've just ordered some rpm revolver 2.2 wheels as recomended by jang from the US. Just need to figure out what tires to go with and what to do body and gearing wise. Want a good basher/ off road/ grass tyre. Good on jumps but that won't balloon like crazy. Any ideas?? Proline mashers....maybe....

I went with trencher 2.8 tires. Do the duct tape inside before glueing them on. I use trenchers with duct tape and run 4s with 2400kv motor and it screams and have had no tire balloning. I also have 2 other slash 4x4s with stock brushless motor and esc that have the trenchers and converted to mt for my boys and we have had a blast so far.

Thanks for that advice. Trenchers are def well liked. What body did u go for? I'm thinking of the proline baja.... If it clears the wheels ok?

Sounds good. Any negatives on doing this to a slash.... I'm doing it or similar so I'm going to find out but interested in your experiences. Did u run 3s ?
