Can you adjust where your motor is mounted? Otherwise, get a spur gear that's the same as the old one. (This is assuming you don't wanna get the pinion off the motor shaft)

Spur gears are cheap. Just buy another.

Otherwise, there are ways to get that pinion off. I had my LHS do it, but let me search around a bit for ways to do it. Whatever you do, don't drill it out.

Edit:
Yes, your LHS should be able to remove it for you. Even if it costs a few bucks, it will be worth it. I didn't want to risk using my motor doing it myself, so I brought my motor it and they took it off for me. I bought like $20 worth of stuff that day, but I don't remeber paying for them to take it off. If you buy stuff from there often, they should do it for a low fee (if not for free).

You could get a pinion puller.

Or DIY (with this version I think you'd tap the motor shaft out with a punch of some kind):

If you have a torx wrench set (star lookin ones) ive had luck extracting stripped set screws before, just find the one that goes in the farthest and fits the snuggest and THEN start trying to loosen it. dont start spinning things in there until you find something that fits at least somewhat snugly, or you'll just make it worse. Or if theres a decent amount of said stripped screw sticking out of the gear, then use a dremel and a cutting wheel to create a slot in it so you can use a flat head screw driver to loosen it. if you're not handy with a dremel then have someone who is do it for you though. dremel+tight spaces+inexperience=bad.
