Any body have tips for putting a 1/8 motor on the LCG Slash or rally chassis? I have put plenty of 1/8 motors on 2wd Slashes, Backslashes, MonsterSlashes but no Lcg 4x4 chassis. I know that the ESC and receiver must be relocated but how about gearing, stress on the drive train. Not just for speed runs but for onroad, offroad, bashing racing etc. I have three different options for 1/8 motors and esc's in my collection a MM 1515 2200kv, http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-combo-m6a.html or an RX-8 with Turnigy Trackstar 2650kv.

Also does the original esc mounting tab under the motor need to be removed? The one on the far left. It seems as if the Trackstar rests on it and kicks the rear of the motor slightly up.

rx8 is small. might be able to mount it on the shock tower like i did with my mmp in my rally. might give you a little more room to work with.

i have a rx8/t8 combo for a dex408 that i am building. considered trying it out in my rally. currently running a mmp with a novak 550 balistic 4.5t.

Can you move the receiver box up front by using the stampede rx box like with the old slash4x4 chassis?
I'm not positive but looking at a pictures it looks like the LCG chassis lacks the screw holes up front for the other receiver box...
Man this is a dealbreaker for me then since I"ve got a MMM theres no way my cc2650 would fit either...

Traxxas designed this new chassi to be able to drop in either the 2200 or 2650 castle motor. The stock rx box on the rally will move to the front where the 2 hole's are and bolt right in. Plenty of room for either setup. No need to change to the bigger Stampede rx box.
Crash test dummy need to bash in my slash!
