I'm always loooking for ways to decrease weight. Before building my hopped-up T4, I weighted every key parts, here is what I got :


Chassis = 151gr.
Carbon = 126gr.

1 Losi rear tire, Step Pin, silver compound = 73gr.
Holeshot M3 = 58gr.

1 Losi truck tire foam donut = 9gr.
Pro-Line = 7gr.

Heat sink motor plate = 16gr.
Associated milled blue motor plate = 14gr.

Diff. outdrive set = 22gr.
Lightened diff. outdrive set = 17gr.

Slipper plate set = 6gr.
Trinity light slipper plate set = 6gr.

Front shock tower = 16gr.
Carbon = 13gr.

Front bumper = 3gr.
RPM Mini-Bumper = 6gr.

Front suspension arms set = 26gr.
Carbon = 21gr.

Front hinge pin brace = 2.5gr.
Carbon = 2gr.
Trinity aluminum = 2.5gr.

Battery brace = 10gr.
Carbon = 11gr. (it's not a typo)

Chassis upper plate = 14gr.
Carbon = 12gr.

Rear suspension arms set = 32gr.
Carbon = 27gr.

Rear chassis brace = 10gr.
Carbon = 8gr.

Rear shock tower = 25gr.
Carbon = 21gr.

Turnbuckles/Hinge Pins set = 37gr.
Lunsford Titanium kit = 23gr.

Old clear type gear cover = 2gr.
New black one = 6gr.


Now draw your own conclusion on what's worth or not...

great info. helps me out alot!!
Id like to add that a kimbrough ultra mesh pinion gear will shave a few grams off the steel stock pinion.
also associated has woven carbon fiber battery strap thats supposed to be lighter than stock. it looks different than the previous ones, not sure how much lighter it is. LXFDW3 is tower's part number for it.

Nice work man. I guess carbon fiber is not always lighter in the case of that battery brace, huh?

Just to make thing clear, the hopped-up battery brace that I weighted is the carbon one that come in the Associated carbon kit. Not the separate woven carbon FIBER one.

Where is the weight for the heaviest part of the T-4????

Nickel battery weight???

You can cut that weight in half and double you're runtimes with a Thunder Power TP6000-2S4P 7.4 volt Lithium Poly battery that fits right into the T-4 battery tray.

The easiest way to get weight off!!!

Only problem is that brings you under the legal minimum weight. Doh!
