Early results from the "What does URC need next?" poll are clear. One of the things many members want to see is more project vehicle work from me. As promised in the 2005 Year in Review, I've already stepped up my efforts in the workshop, working to complete all of my existing projects. As the publically-known ones approach completion, though, the time has come to announce something new!

With the "Cool Cat" project, I will be returning to the roots of the company at my own roots. Released in 1987, "The Cat" was Traxxas' very first RC, the very vehicle that launched the RTR revolution in the hobby-level RC sector. I purchased one of these historically significant vehicles right here in the RC Flea Market about five months ago. I don't have any specifics worked out well enough to start talking about, but my general plan is to do an enhanced restoration, making it run better than new while paying proper homage to its vintage era. It will of course, however, receive some of the same peppering of uniqueness that I try to bring to all of my projects.

Details to follow on a full project page as parts start to arrive.

Sounds like something worthy of a restoration. Shouldn't be hard to find repro parts for it either, seeing as the spirit is heavily based off of it.

This is going to be one of a kind since nobody uses the cat anymore because it was too much radio shack type.

you should try to make it a snow truck-like an actual snow cat. that'd be really cool
If I have to walk anywhere there better be at least five girls involved. And they'd better be working their way through college.
