hosted at Delta R/C Raceway &
Hobbies, Antioch, California
Congratulations to the participants!
The event was a raging success! Participants competed in six races over five different track layouts over the two-day event. The 2nd day's event was scored as a triple A main, with awards presented by Delta R/C to the top 3 finishers. Cumulative laps and times were added up for all six legs of the rally to determine the 2002 J-SPEC Rally Champion!
Awareness of the class has gone up dramatically and many more racers have pledged to convert their trucks to J-SPECs or to make brand new ones. The racers at the event gave 20 thumbs up -- everyone had tremendous fun.
Huge thanks to all ten participants for coming out to join us, and congratulations to the winners, speaking of which...

It's worthy of note that Badboy and Speedydave were both running rental cars from the official Ultimate Traxxas fleet, assigned randomly every round!
The Ultimate J-SPEC
The grand prize was a tricked-out Traxxas Rustler in J-SPEC form sponsored by UltimateTraxxas.com (which you all know) and Dudemann Racing (expert motor tuner, maker of well-known race-winning stock-class motors). The truck's chassis, arms & tranny case were Dremelled out by The JANG to Ultimate Rustler: Phase II specs. Take a look at this beauty:

The vehicle came fully ready to race & win as either a J-SPEC car (with installed pearl white Suzuki Escudo body) or stock truck (with included unpainted truck body). Included were a hot tuned P2K Pro motor contributed by Dudemann Racing, an Airtronics Blazer Sport radio system, DuraTrax AutoSport ESC, Dynamite Mega 1 timed charger, Duratrax "Shark" 1500 pack, and more. The car sported sticky red-compound Losi Step Pin tires all around, with Pro-Line ultra firm grey foams up front for low rolling resistance and stock foams in the rear for high grip. Look at all of this loot!
