Awards for 2007

Super Users

These individuals did not necessarily exhibit the highest posting rate, but were among the most consistently outstanding, positive contributors to the community. Major kudos and many thanks this year to:

  • DickyT - It's a bit shocking to see that DickyT actually joined the URC family in 2007, as it feels like he's been a part of us for much longer than that. I'm sure a major contributing factor is that from day one, he fit right and and was "one of us." He's been friendly, level-headed, fun, and very sharing with his knowledge; knowledge which is impressive in depth and breadth given that when he signed up he was, in his own words, "a quasi noob." How quickly things can change!
  • Arubaboy24 - How's this for contrast? Here's a guy who has been with us for, get this, over four years. Aruba's material contributions span an impressively wide area. He's posted projects, helped mold and nurture our still fledgling aircraft section, participated in the Mini Off-Roaders forums, posted usefully in the Off-Topic areas, and so, so much more. A true veteran, and a truly valued member.

RookieS of the Year

  • AERacer40 - Since signing up on March 25, this gentleman has consistently been one of the top posters in the RC10T4.com forums. Better still, his contributions are helpful, and his friendly attitude is always appreciated.
  • ArizonaMGT - Now this guy signed up one day later, but to be a member of MonsterGT.com! It wasn't long before he branched out into the many other areas of the URC Network, and his fun and energetic posts can now be found just about everywhere!

The "Just A Nice Guy" Award

  • chilly4kc
Talk about an unsung, humble hero. Chilly has built a reputation at URC as the news guy. In fact, in '07 he posted almost 180 news announcements & press releases, often breaking exciting stories days, if not weeks before any of the rest of us would have heard. And he did it all without asking a thing in return. My friend, we salute and thank you.

Life of the Party

  • M3mph1s
"I swear to drunk I'm not God occifer..." How many times did you see this signature in the forums? See for yourself -- yeah, it's a lot! He's been everywhere, all at once and at all times, truly personifying this award.

Awards for 2006

Super Users

  • MetalMan - Winner of the 2006 MVP Awards and third-time Super User, this guy just won't quit. His reputation truly precedes him.
  • jagboy - Talk about dedication! When circumstances forced him to back away from work on actual RC models halfway through the year, he defiantly refused to slow down in the hobby, beginning an incredible CAD project designing a fifth-scale brushless Formula One car in CAD, from scratch, sharing progress on the forums all the way!
  • seth556 - Second-place winner in the MVP Awards and member since mid-2004, Seth has a perennial presence on the forums that we never get enough of.

Rookie of the Year

  • aircruiser
Formerly known as Godzilla, formerly known as TraxxasGrant, aircruiser (who promises this is his final screen name) technically joined three days before the start of the year, but it would be a shame not to put him in the Hall. He made some of the common newbie mistakes, but learned from them and went on to become a well-known prolific poster with a lot of excitement about the hobby.

The "Just A Nice Guy" Award

  • C.M.Hanson
Known for the many Lexan chassis he has designed for his and his son's Stampedes, Chris is a model URC dad if ever there's been one!

Life of the Party

  • iluvmud
Anywhere "mud" goes, there's gonna be some excitement, one way or another!

Awards for 2005

Super Users

  • MetalMan - A second time Super User and tremendous contributor of knowledge to electric R/C'ers, particularly in the hot brushless and LiPo segments
  • Morter Man - All-around contributor, but especially in the Air forums and in the Monster GT forums

Rookie of the Year

  • NewEraXmod
A genuine RC enthusiast who freely shares what he learns, thinks before he posts, and has a great attitude

The "Just A Nice Guy" Award

  • Zerohax369
A humble role model of a member, Ray ends every post on a good note and brings an inescapable aura of peace and friendliness to every topic he touches. It's simply not possible to not like and respect this guy.

Life of the Party

  • El Jarretto
If he hadn't signed up over a year after this award was created, you'd swear the "Life of the Party" moniker was made specifically to hold El Jarretto's screen name. He's cynical, silly, and occasionally even funny! On top of all that, try as you may, you just can't avoid the posts of this omnipresent forum icon.

Awards for 2004

Super Users

  • MetalMan (formerly tcolsen)
  • RC_Obsession (formerly Messiah, formerly rc obsession)
  • AudioKid

RookieS of the Year

  • dabid_van and camel_rc
These two brothers came out of nowhere and made a big splash on the URC scene this past year. Their contributions to the community have consistently been up-beat and helpful, and they've had great fun in the process. Nothing but good vibes here. Oh, and honorable mention to their sister, nokie's_girl!

The "Just A Nice Guy" Award

  • kap06
Kap is one of those users about whom everybody knows and has nothing but good to say. He's always quick to lend a hand whenever and wherever he can, and his posts are consistently constructive, useful, and positive. A true role model.

Life of the Party

  • iluvtruenos
If you've been browsing around URC at all, you've surely caught a random quip by "El Arifo." He's like that close brother you never wanted. But ya know what? We love the guy!
  • Minion
Now, Minion has been with us forever & ever. I think it's reasonable to call him a member of the "old guard." In '03, he took somewhat of a break, but this year he came back with a vengance and spiced up the place with his cool avatars, occasionally very controversial & thought-provoking topics, and great contributions to the Humor Mill.

Awards for 2003

Super Users

  • HardcoreDragonX and
  • trxrustler1121

Rookie of the Year

  • R-N-R
Having joined through UltimateTraxxas.com, R-N-R came to learn things to do with his new vehicle and ended up contributing tremendously with his threads that documented his own Ultimate Rustler-inspired project. Over the course of his stay with us he has asked countless intelligent questions, triggering the buildup of a lot of great information many people benefitted from.

The "Just A Nice Guy" Award

  • PK_Maxx
This guy truly embodied the best spirit one can have in the hobby, helping out other members whenever he could both online and off, spreading tremendous positive enthusiasm not getting caught up in brand wars.

Life of the Party

  • the_kid
If you haven't had a laugh either at or with The Kid, you haven't been around the forums very much. What would we do without him?
